MaritimeIntelligence SystemWhat MIS Ocean does, how vessels and crew get into it, and what it costs.
MIS Ocean, the Maritime Intelligence System, is a web platform for commercial shipping fleets, ship managers and crewing agencies. It combines live AIS vessel tracking on a 2D chart or an interactive 3D globe, voyage playback, crew engagement records and weather and cyclone risk in one workspace.
Commercial shipping fleets, ship managers, global crewing agencies and large ship management corporations. Plus suits emerging operators and regional crewing managers, Pro suits commercial fleets and global crewing agencies, Max suits large shipping lines and ship management corporations, and Enterprise covers fleets of 200 or more vessels.
Yes. Sign in with Google for free access to the live map, with no card required. The free live map shows the shared layers: land-based AIS vessel traffic from around the world, weather, cyclone tracking and risk zones. Your own fleet, crew, voyage playback and the voice assistant need a paid plan.
Plus is USD 99 per month for up to 5 vessels with 3 months of history. Pro is USD 199 per month for up to 20 vessels with 1 year of history. Max is USD 299 per month for up to 100 vessels with 3 years of history. Enterprise pricing is custom.
A workspace for your company: your own fleet with live positions and track history, crew engagement records, voyage playback, the executive dashboard, user and role management and an audit log. The plans differ in the number of vessels, how much history is kept and which integrations are included.
Plus, Pro and Max are monthly subscriptions priced in US dollars. Enterprise customers are invoiced as a company.
Enterprise is for large fleets of 200 or more vessels, with custom scale, multi-year playback, direct engineering support with a 24/7 hotline and optional on-premises deployment. Contact the team through the Support and Contact page.
Sign in with Google to open the free live map, or register a commercial account for your company. Then add your vessels, bring your own AIS key if you need positions beyond land-based coverage, and import crew engagement from Excel or send it through the Crew Engagement REST API.
Yes. The worldwide land-based AIS vessel traffic layer is part of the free live map. Sign in with Google and switch it on; no card and no AIS key are needed.
MIS Ocean shows land-based AIS traffic for 35,000+ vessels worldwide, on the free live map and alongside your managed fleet on the paid plans. You can also bring your own AIS provider by connecting MyShipTracking, MarineTraffic or a custom endpoint with your own keys.
Add the vessel to your fleet with its IMO and MMSI. While it sails within land-based AIS coverage, MIS Ocean matches it to the shared vessel traffic data and shows its position, with no AIS key needed. When it sails outside land-based coverage, connect your own AIS provider with your own key and MIS Ocean shows the position your provider reports.
Land-based AIS receivers only hear vessels within radio range of the coast, typically a few tens of nautical miles. Beyond that a vessel is not in the shared traffic data. Connecting your own AIS provider, for example a satellite AIS service, with your own key fills that gap.
MyShipTracking, MarineTraffic or a custom endpoint, each with your own keys. MIS Ocean shows the usage and cost of the keys you bring.
Yes. The land-based AIS traffic layer shows the vessels around your fleet. Dense areas group into counts and open into individual vessels as you zoom in, and picking any vessel shows its speed, heading, IMO or MMSI, destination and last observation.
Yes. Machine learning on AIS history estimates routes and arrival times, so planners see delays earlier.
Yes, on the Pro and Max plans. Gemini voice navigation on the live map lets you ask about vessels, positions, traffic and weather hands-free.
Yes. Voyage playback replays AIS tracks, weather and crew sign-on and sign-off together on one timeline. How far back you can go depends on the plan: 3 months on Plus, 1 year on Pro and 3 years on Max.
Plus keeps 3 months of AIS tracks, weather and crew history, Pro keeps 1 year and Max keeps 3 years. Enterprise has a custom multi-year window.
No. The surrounding vessel traffic is live only. Playback replays your managed fleet's AIS tracks, the weather and crew sign-on and sign-off.
Your company's crewing system sends crew engagement to MIS Ocean through the Crew Engagement REST API (Pro and Max plans): each sign-on and sign-off for a crew member on a vessel. MIS Ocean then shows who was on board each vessel on any date, in the crew directory, the vessel panels and voyage playback. You can also import in bulk from Excel on every paid plan.
Yes. The integration channel is open: your crewing module sends the crew details as a payload through the Crew Engagement REST API, so crew data and vessel data stay together in MIS Ocean without re-typing. The API is on the Pro and Max plans; Excel import is available on every paid plan.
It checks automatically for overlapping and out-of-order engagements, normalises countries and flags against a master list for clean reporting, and keeps correction requests with a review step and an audit trail behind every change.
Yes. Pick a vessel and a date in voyage playback to see its recorded voyages and the crew on board at that moment.
Yes. It shows wind, wave and cyclone layers, tropical cyclone tracking with early-warning alerts for vessels in the path, and a 7-day forecast from NOAA model runs. You can click anywhere on the sea for wave height, direction and depth, and replay the weather a vessel actually sailed through.
MIS Ocean tracks tropical cyclones with forecast cones and raises an early-warning alert for your vessels that are in the path.
The 7-day forecast is refreshed from NOAA model runs and covers wind, waves, swell, air temperature, precipitation, cloud cover, pressure, visibility and more.
Accounts use authenticator-app or email multi-factor sign-in, recovery codes, role-based access and a complete audit log.
Each paying company works in its own workspace with its own database. Customer-provided AIS and crew data is not sold and is not disclosed to other customers; the Privacy Notice has the details.
Yes, on the Enterprise plan: an on-premises deployment in your own infrastructure under your own security policies. Otherwise MIS Ocean runs as a managed cloud service.
